Labor is estimated at 14 hours to remove and disassemble the block and 22 hours to reassemble the block and get it running. For a total of 36 hours at $98 per hour is $3,528.
Be advised you MAYNEED up to an additional $2,000 for miscellaneous parts to make sure your vehicle will start, perform and run with the newly rebuilt engine.
Parts May Include:
Water Pump
Fuel Pump
Alternator
Valve Covers
Starter
Voltage Regulator
Starter Solenoid
Fuel Lines
Fuel Filter
Oil
Transmission Fluid
Timing belt
Spark Plugs
Associated Gaskets
Coil
Spark Plug Wires
Distributor Cap
Rotor
Another addition to be aware of, is a $1,500ea estimate if you need/want a new intake, carb or headers.
For example on a 351 C 4BBL it would be $2,398.85 + $650.00 + $3,528.00 + $2,000 + $1,500 for a total of $10,076.85 if it needed everything listed. So budget between $6,500-$10,000
Obviously if your car needs everything, it’s more expensive. If it doesn’t need everything, then it’s less expensive. Again, these are estimates and not actual out-the-door prices, but they are as close as I can get without actually doing any work on your vehicle. Also the hours quoted are when everything goes without a hitch. Be advised that hours can fluctuate due to scope of work and how everything aligns and fits.
If you would like your engine bay to be painted to match your car, or if you have another color in mind that you would like to have it painted, now would be the time to do so. It would be an estimated additional $1500 for masking, painting and labor.
